Physcians and Staff
Barbara Ramlo-Halsted, MD, Director
Dr. Ramlo-Halsted received her MD from Yale University School of Medicine. She completed her residency and a postdoctoral clinical and research fellowship at the University of California at San Diego (UCSD) Medical Center. Dr. Ramlo-Halsted joined UC's Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism in 1999 as assistant professor. She has been a staff endocrinologist with the Cincinnati Veteran's Affairs Medical Center and with University Internal Medicine Associates, a practice group within UC Physicians. Dr. Ramlo-Halsted is now director of The Diabetes Center. She is married to Mark Halsted, M.D. on staff at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC), and they have two young children, Chloe 7 and Ben 2. Her family enjoys hiking, camping and canoeing.

Amanda Denney, M.D.

Betty Claydon, RD, CDE
Betty completed her undergrad degree in Dietetics at The College of Mt. St. Joseph. She interned at Good Samaritan Hospital, and received her Master's in Education at the University of Cincinnati. She is a Certified Diabetes Educator, and has 20 years of experience working with people with diabetes. She provides both individual counseling and group classes and has served as Coordinator of an ADA Recognized Diabetes Self-Management Program. Betty is married with one child, Jennifer 24. Betty's interests include gardening, cooking and reading. She is a running/power walker enthusiast.

Cindy Gordon, RN, CDE
Cindy received her BSN degree from Boston College School of Nursing and Master's in Education from Boston University. As a Certified Diabetes Educator with over 20 years experience, Cindy has provided diabetes education services in a variety of settings. Cindy and her husband Ross have two children, Leslie 20 and Sara 14. Cindy's interests include walking, home decorating, horses and children's activities.
